Japan Game Release: GalGun
September 20, 2010
There’s still two days left at the Tokyo Game Show, but I doubt I’ll find a more entertaining title than GalGun, an on-rails shooter set in a Japanese high school. Before you cry Columbine, relax: There are no bullets and nobody dies. In GalGun for Xbox 360, your character hits schoolgirls with “pheromone shots.” Read the rest of this entry ?

Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep
September 6, 2010
Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep is an upcoming PSP title that fans of the series have been looking forward to since the secret video at the end of Kingdom Hearts II. Released in Japan back in January, fans of the series in the Western world have since been enduring the excruciating wait for the localized release. Fans can rejoice, however, as that wait has been confirmed by Square Enix to be over. Birth by Sleep is announced to be released tomorrow September 7th, 2010. Read the rest of this entry ?

Silent Hill 8 Details Released
June 17, 2010
An eighth Silent Hill game will be released next year on PS3 and Xbox 360, Konami has announced. This is the same game that was revealed at E3. Czech developer Vatra Games will do the honors. There’s no major brand-renovation being done. Instead, Konami wants to “stay true to the franchise’s roots” and deliver, as Shinji Hirano (publisher boss) put it, “A next generation horror game that the fans truly deserve”.
Silent Hill 8 will be third-person, then, and naturally involve a new and super spooky story. That revolves around prisoner Murphy Pendleton, who’s stranded the town of Silent Hill when his convict transport vehicle crashes. Pendleton will need to solve tricky puzzles to progress through this “dark” and “thought-provoking” tale, beating off monsters with wooden chairs and glass bottles. We’re promised various side-quests, too.

Game Review- Resident Evil 5
April 7, 2010
Resident Evil 5 has trumped all RE games combined. You see, I’ve been a huge fan of the series since I first acquired a copy of Resident Evil 2. When I first played that game, it completely blew me away. This was a game that was gruesome, intensely scary, was a blast to play, and had a great dual story line to boot. Since that fateful encounter with Leon and Claire ten years ago, I’ve been a faithful fan of the canonical entries of the series. As big a fan I was of games like Resident Evil Zero and the remake of the original on the GameCube, I feared that my precious survival horror series was getting stale. Read the rest of this entry ?

Game Review- Battlefield: Bad Company 2
March 29, 2010
Being the sequel to 2008’s Battlefield: Bad Company, BC2 does everything you’d expect from a second offering; everything that worked in the original was expanded upon, and things that needed improvement got reworked. The overall result is a polished, engaging experience that is easily the best Battlefield game ever created. The campaign starts off in familiar Battlefield territory: World War II. The Japanese have developed a secret weapon that the Americans are desperate to get their hands on. However, your squad fails in procuring the dangerous super weapon, and its detonation marks the end of your adventure in the ‘40s. Read the rest of this entry ?

Game Review- Silent Hill: Shattered Memories
March 9, 2010
The Silent Hill Series has a mostly loyal and ardent fan base consisting of folks who really, really love a great psychological thriller/horror. Weird cults who are hell bent on resurrecting ancient gods? Sign them up! Spouses who can’t come to grips with their relationships and end up getting stuck in a nightmarish waltz with Death personified? Sounds like a good time! Parents killing their children and destroying their town in the process? That’s the place Silent Hill fans want to vacation at. Read the rest of this entry ?

The Legend of Zelda Returns!
February 24, 2010
Everyone has been waiting for the top 10 games to come out this year. Among them… The Legend of Zelda for the Wii console. No one knows exactly what this Zelda has in store, but it is Big! Just to show how big the announcement of a new Zelda game is let’s look at the facts. The game was not shown (or mentioned) at the Nintendo press conference, it was not on the show floor, neither in trailer or demo form, hell it doesn’t even have an official title yet, but when Shigeru Myamoto shows off one piece of concept art the internet goes crazy! The next title in the acclaimed Zelda series promises to be darker and more mature then ever and we can’t wait to get our hands on Link’s next adventure.

Game Review- Animal Crossing: City Folk
February 18, 2010For those that don’t know, the Animal Crossing series fits right into the life simulation genre with a focus on collecting things. It doesn’t feature an elaborate career mechanic, but it does have hundreds of different things to seek out. These collectible items are closely tethered to a time system that ties in directly with the system clock. When it’s winter in real life, there’s snow on the ground in the game. In April, more bugs come out for catching. During Halloween, a special event involving pumpkins occurs in your town. When you haven’t played in a while, weeds grow all over and the locals bug you, wondering where you have been. Read the rest of this entry ?
