Compared to the first season, this sequel appears to be taking off much quicker on the relevant story side of things as the focus shifts back to the mysteries surrounding Synapse. The man of the (half) hour is none other than Eishirou, who plunges back into a Dive Game and makes his proclamation against theMaster of the Sky. Oh now it’s on!

Sora no Otoshimono Forte Episode 5
October 31, 2010Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt Episode 10
October 31, 2010I have a feeling “cognitive dissonance” was a theme this week, with clashing styles of art that somehow feels akin to Yuasa Masaaki’s works. The depressing atmosphere, troubling reality, and your not so great to look at faces, reminds me of something to the likes of Mind Game. I had previously thought it was more similar to Satoshi Kon, but his art style is nowhere near the same. Can’t say anything about directorial wise.
Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt Episode 9
October 30, 2010There’s a whole mess of confusion within me from watching this half. Is it the urge to be disgusted from an episode devoted to boogers? That said boogers are so abundant, and shooting everywhere, or that they look exactly like Stocking’s sweets? How about that Stocking eats said sweets, but soon eats those boogers too, but the cognitive dissonance of seeing it still as a sweet, but knowing it’s a booger just rips the mind apart?
Star Driver Episode 4
October 29, 2010Now, this has been my favorite episode so far; since the first episode at least. Primarily, it’s because we finally broke out of the formula and actually had some TakutoxWako development other than Wako fawning over Takuto in Zero Time when he does cool shit.
Kuragehime Episode 2
October 28, 2010Given my experience with Hanazawa Kana, whose roles such as Segoku Nadeko and Tachibana Kanade just happen to be far more familiar, I had always thought she was a pigeonholed seiyuu. I didn’t really mind, as I love her wispy soft voice, but most of her characters were too emotionless to ever really get attached to. With Kurashita Tsukimi however, she expresses a range of emotion I didn’t even know she had, with shrills you couldn’t possibly believe coming out from a girl who voiced the serious and almost emotionless Kanade. She might even pull off completely comedic roles, although Tsukimi’s role is quite close already.
Arakawa Under the Bridge X2 Episode 3
October 22, 2010While Arakawa Under the Bridge has often enjoyed employing slightly touching yet ultimately meaningless little introductions to its episode, this third instalment of S2 starts out with some random platitudes that actually turn out to be at least a little prescient, via an episode that is perhaps the most important in developing the relationship between Kou and Nino yet.
Amagami SS Episode 16
October 22, 2010Between Ai and Junichi running the girls swim club’s oden booth and Itou Kanae walking away with the Miss Santa championship because Haruka was a no-show, the founder’s festival as a whole didn’t quite have much relationship-related development in it. The two of them were alone together, but too busy serving the endless line of customers that the other members of the swim team were bringing in.
Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai Episode 3
October 21, 2010So it turns out the secret to dancing is the infamous Konami Code, or at least that’s what any avid gamer will probably conclude. Between that and the big Zaku head bicycle carriage, I wasn’t sure what made me chuckle more like a big geek, but watching Keima work his magic on the surprisingly poor Mio as well as Elise whine about not being able to wear a cute outfit made this episode one to remember.
Iron Man Episode 3
October 21, 2010As episode three of Iron Man begins, we see Tony Stark’s lab working on some kind of EMP device, which Mr. Stark complains about because it “looks boring”. Yes, that’s right, engineering genius Tony Stark is completely disinterested in this invention because it doesn’t look pretty enough. Read the rest of this entry ?
Shiki Episode 12
October 20, 2010Probably the last thing Shiki needed just as it was hitting its stride was a three-week long break, but that’s exactly what it got to allow itself to realign with the new autumn anime season for its second half. So here we are again, ready to return to the world of the Risen with gusto. Read the rest of this entry ?
